FM AdFocus launches the People's Choice Award

FM AdFocus will partner with the SABC to launch the People's Choice Award, the winner of which will be announced in the prestigious annual supplement as well as at the banquet, co-hosted by the national broadcaster, next month.

Says FM AdFocus editor Jeremy Maggs, "the SA Peoples Choice Ad will open the door to advertising agencies hearing what their most critical and important stakeholders have to say about their work". Voting for this award has already begun on air, on-line and by cellphone.

Possibly the most interesting and contentious of new features in FM Adfocus, according to Maggs, is a list of the 25 most influential advertising personalities in the country. "People may be surprised to see which CEO's or executive creative directors cracked the nod and which industry stalwarts are noticeable by their absence". Other new features include a comprehensive review of the ad scene in both Cape Town and Durban and a client perception audit in which top advertisers rate the state of the industry.

In addition, AdFocus 2004 will also carry the traditional list of industry tables including leading agencies in terms of creativity, effectiveness, business development and transformation including procurement, employment equity, development and ownership.

Deadline for submissions for this year's FM Adfocus close on Wednesday 14th April. Bookings for the FM AdFocus conference on the theme Brand Heroes has opened. For further info visit www.adfocus.co.za.
