Dairy supports the Bulls
Blue Bulls rugby supporters are incredibly patriotic and Douglasdale Dairy has taken the opportunity to promote the use of its products in the rugby hype which has gripped Pretoria for the past week.
As proud supporters of the Blue Bulls rugby team, last week the Douglasdale Dairy delivery teams were issued with Blue Bull jerseys and their trucks were branded.
The Blue Bulls win on Saturday, 12 May 2007, spurred Douglasdale Dairy to go one step further and manufacture a limited edition blue bottle in record time, to capture the market's support for the team and the brand in the lead up to the final clash.
Explains Marina Hanson, Douglasdale Dairy's marketing manager, “We have used our ‘blue bull cartoon character' which appears on all our marketing collateral and our delivery trucks to support this association. All Douglasdale Dairy drivers are currently wearing blue bull's rugby jerseys and all our trucks are branded with the slogan ‘Our cows support the blue bulls'.
“For the first time ever we have brought out a special edition ‘blue' milk bottle, with ‘go bulle' printed on the bottle tops, to pledge our support for the Bulls.”
The limited edition “blue” 2 litre full cream milk bottle has been in distribution in the Pretoria area since yesterday, Wednesday, 15 May, in the lead up to Saturday's Super 14 final.
