Acclaimed sports journalist, Nick Feinberg, has been presented with the much sought - after SAFA Western Cape Media Sportsperson of the Year Award on Saturday 20 November at the Garden Court Holiday Inn.
Hosted by Bafana Bafana coach, Stuart Baxter, the fourteenth SAFA Western Province Presentation Awards, is an initiative that aims to represent and honour South African football men and women. In his keynote speech at the function, Baxter stressed the fact that South Africa needs an integrated youth football development plan, where everyone works in tandem from a national level down to grassroots level.
This award is an acknowledgement for the outstanding contribution Feinberg has made to the football fraternity as presenter and producer of the "Beautiful Game". The Beautiful Game recently featured first in a survey conducted by Octagon Marketing, as the Western Cape's preferred media info source for football.
Says Feinberg: "It's flattering to receive this award considering the amount of quality football journalism out there. I just hope SAFA remember me in 2010 when I'm looking for tickets."
