NWU honours student awarded very first Burke Scholarship
Khethokuhle Ayanda Mthethwa has been awarded the very first Burke Scholarship. Mthethwa obtained a BA in communication at North-West University's (NWU) Vanderbijlpark campus before relocating to Potchefstroom campus to study towards a BA honours in journalism and media studies.
The Burke Scholarship is aimed at developing journalists from previously disadvantaged backgrounds and covers full tuition fees, accommodation costs, as well as a monthly stipend for living expenses.
