Facebook rolls out new feature to combat abuse of local journalists
Local journalists and news media professionals can now voluntarily register for Facebook's new security feature specifically tailored to protect their Facebook and linked Instagram profiles from harassment, hacking and online abuse and harm, the social media network has announced.
Facebook is providing this security feature to journalists across the globe in countries such as the United States, United Kingdom, India, the Philippines, Mexico, Brazil, Libya and Kenya. Registration is voluntary and journalists are encouraged to register as a journalist using their personal Facebook account here.
