No more Hayibo
After almost three years, South Africa's online satirical news site Hayibo.com announced in its newsletter on Tuesday, 31 August 2010, that lack of advertising support means that it being forced to shut down and that its last update will be on Friday 3 September. Writes Tom Eaton, Anthony Pascoe and Steve Porter, "So until we meet again, keep breaking the news into lots of little pieces and saying 'Hayibo!' to everything they want us to believe." The online shop will still be open for a week or so that "you can get your Christmas shopping done and save our families: at the moment it looks like they'll be getting Hayibo T-shirts and hoodies for every birthday and Christmas until 2035".
