When will the SABC learn?

In times when talent is all around the national broadcaster still fails in its mandate to also deliver and train talent.

We have seen it time and time again. The SABC poaching talent from other stations etc.

Now it is my understanding and believe that the national broadcaster has a mandate to develop new talent as part of all other objectives they need to try and achieve. The question is, what structures do they have in place to even try and get to this?

Let's take for example Metro FM & 5FM. Any new talent that anyone knows of coming through the ranks that was not bought / lured away from other stations? None as far as I know. More just a case of:"Lets see how much more money we can offer this person". Thus taking them away from their current successful area and hoping that they will fit into the new atmosphere.

Another question... Any talent going into national stations from other smaller / regional SABC stations? The likes of Good Hope FM, Tru FM, Ukhozi FM etc. etc.

This is not only applicable to on-air talent, but also off air in terms of management, music compilers, marketing etc. etc.

Thanks SABC, for not investing in the youth and building your very own leaders that could've been molded into what would exactly be needed by yourself. Try and save some money in future and help develop young enthusiastic youth that would probably be delivering more in the long run and be much more loyal to yourself as a company.

Let's hope for change...
