Mandela Postal Stamps
I watched with horror last night as the woman from South African Post Office (is that what it is? I call it poso!) shows off the new Nelson Mandela postal stamps. OMG! All the people benefiting from that project are WHITE! WHITE South African photographer, WHITE South African Artist.
I don't mean this in a nasty way. Nor do I want to bring up the 'race card'..as I'm sure a lot of people are going to be accusing me of doing. But I feel Black South Africans are not being afforded the opportunity to be involved in great projects like those. I'm sure there are lots of Black artist and Black photographers that could have made this happen.
But anyway, that's just my thoughts on the matter. Can someone please tell me how this project was put together and how did they get to approach those artists to do the work.
