Sadhvi Rampersad wins annual AMASA trophy

Selected from students who enter the six-month media module course, the organisation selects the student who shows the best attitude, aptitude and enthusiasm for entering the world of media.
"The course is quite gruelling and calls for students, who are usually new to the industry, to commit to two hour long lectures on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, over a six-month period," says Jones.
"Theory and practical aspects"
"The course covers both the theory and practical aspects of media planning and looks at the fundamental skills needed and the perceived pros and cons of each media type over separate lectures. Students are required to complete group and individual tasks throughout the course, which count for marks, culminating in a final exam at the end of the course. To assist them on their way, each student is armed with the new edition of AMASA's media planning textbook The Nuts 'n Bolts of Media Planning.
"Out of the 31 Johannesburg and 18 Cape Town students who took part in the 2011 course, she and her colleagues will no doubt be assets to whichever companies take the opportunity to employ them," concludes Jones.
The 2012 Media Module course runs from July this year. Interested parties can contact az.oc.bhjloohcsaaa@tobmivur.
