Roast Café and The Comedy Club have closed and made way for two new restaurants.

Tony Raciti, the owner of Roast Café and The Comedy Club, explains the change: “Roast Café and The Comedy Club opened its doors three and a half years ago. While Roast Café was a success from day one, The Comedy Club never really found its feet and it was not financially viable to keep a large space like that open for just two shows a week. I decided to move on from The Comedy Club to start something new.”

Raciti has teamed up with brothers José and Tony da Costa to open Rodizio Brazilian Grill and Tapas. A rodízio restaurant refers to a Brazilian-style steakhouse restaurant, at which customers pay a preço fixo (fixed price) and waiters bring samples of food to customers several times throughout the meal until the customers signal that they have had enough.

The space that was previously occupied by Roast Café will home Café Rio, which will offer Brazilian-inspired dishes. Rodizio Brazilian Grill and Tapas and Café Rio are due to open at the beginning of July.

New additions to the High Street include Tiger’s Milk and JB’s Corner. JB’s Corner is undergoing refurbishment and rebranding and will reappear with a new look and some menu changes at the end of June.

Ono Poké Eatery, which offers Hawaiian-style poké bowls, is relocating to from Illovo. “Ono means ‘delicious’ in Hawaiian. Poké is a traditional Hawaiian meal comprising raw fish on a rice base,” explains owner Anthony Theodosiou.

Melrose Arch will also welcome Hello Tomato and Senhor Peri Peri in Crescent Drive mid-year.
