Icasa report analyse tariff notifications submitted by network operators

The report highlights the different tariff plans (prices and product offerings) which were filed and/or existed in the market during the period under review. It is furthermore, aligned to Section 2(n) of the Electronic Communications Act as amended, which provides for ‘promoting the interest of consumers with regard to the price, quality and the variety of electronic communication services’.
It is Icasa’s view that the publication of the report would enable consumers to make an informed choice, in terms of tariff plan preferences and/or preferred network providers based on their different offerings.
Even though the report is retrospective, it does however serve as an important information dispensing tool, in that most plans are likely to still exist in the market beyond the period under review, thus it still does provide important insights to consumers.
Icasa will continue to publish such reports to ensure retail price transparency within the electronic communications sector thereby assisting consumers to make informed decisions during their consumption of electronic communications services. The report is available here.
