TV personality Prim Reddy makes radio debut

Prim Reddy will be making her radio debut on Talk Radio 702, hosting two weekend shows from next weekend. Reddy will present "A word on the home" on 702 every Saturday and Sunday afternoon between 1 and 4pm. The show focuses on DIY, decor, pets, gardening, food and lifestyle issues. It will be simulcast to 702's sister station, 567 CapeTalk.

Reddy is a continuity presenter on SABC 3 and over the years has become a popular face throughout South Africa.

702's station manager, Yusuf Abramjee said, "Prim has a bubbly personality and is a special talent with great potential for radio." He said Reddy recently filled-in on the weekend show and "she was an instant hit. Listeners love her".

"We welcome Prim to 702 and listeners can look forward to interesting and informative content," said Abramjee. "Talk back will continue to form an integral part of the show and there will be interesting guests on an ongoing basis."

Born in Durban, Reddy moved to Johannesburg in 1996 to embark on a career in television. She has a BA degree in communications and she is currently completing her dissertation for her MBA. She is also qualified in HIV/Aids care and counseling.

On her appointment at Talk Radio 702, Reddy said: "The great thing about 702 is that I was made to feel comfortable even before I was offered a contract. Corporate culture forms the foundation for what is communicated on air, which is why my first show was successful."

Reddy replaces Florence Masebe who has been presenting the weekend show for over a year. Masebe asked to be relieved of her shows because of "personal and professional commitments".
