Tove Kane says goodbye to Highveld

Award-winning radio presenter Tove Kane will be leaving 94.7 Highveld Stereo at the end of June to pursue other interests, which include focusing on the Tove Kane Foundation and her production studio where she offers vocal and confidence training to children, the radio station announced yesterday, 7 June 2006.

The Tove Kane Foundation benefits women empowerment, child protection initiatives and cancer and HIV/Aids patients.

Says Kane, "I have had a wonderful time at 94.7. I have enjoyed every moment of the 10 years spent working on Joburg's premier radio station. The interaction with listeners and clients was always the highlight of my day. I particularly enjoyed working on all the charity initiatives that the station embarked on."

Kane, who cut her teeth at sister station Talk Radio 702 in 1991, moved to 94.7 in October 1996. She started out on the weekday 9am to 1pm slot, and currently presents the Monday to Friday 12pm to 3pm slot.

Says station manager, Ravi Naidoo, "Tove has been a valuable asset to the station and is well-liked by the listeners. She has contributed to the success of the station and has always been a pleasure to work with. However, we understand she needs to pursue other interests. We wish her well."

94.7 Highveld Stereo will release its line-up change shortly.
