Citing “value in the potential growth of both Gastronomica and Knysna” as motivation for the partnership, PGP is a supporting sponsor of the 2007 festival, which takes place Sunday 23 2007 until Monday 1 October.
The festival provides a platform for international and local chefs, restaurateurs, tourists and locals, as well as the artisans and farmers who produce the ingredients for this celebration of fresh and fine food. It is a food-lover's paradise of 10-days of hands-on workshops and demonstrations with an emphasis not only on good and honest food but also on the freshest seasonal ingredients, the training and practices of the producer, culinary students, food enthusiasts and chefs with music and dance on the side.
Manager of Pam Golding Knysna, Kevin Ordman, said the decision to support Gastronomica was based on the belief that both Pam Golding Properties and Gastronomica share the same values and philosophy about business.
“Both companies are organically grown, nurtured and developed by successful and passionate women, Pam Golding and Pat Mulder,” said Ordman.
Aside from celebrating a love of good food, the festival has a larger agenda: to encourage participants to adopt a lifestyle which encompasses food with integrity.
“Gastronomica is about honest, true, good, fresh and bio-diverse food; a showcase for both talent and products,” said MD Pat Mulder. “The aim is to raise the bar at all levels of the food sector. The chefs are chosen for their passion, talent, dedication, constructive attitude and positive energy.”
