New cushion range supports skills development NPO
A new cushion range, Scatterloader, which supports a skills development NPO, is now available from online fashion store Superbalist.com. The new start-up company, founded by Capetonian Tania Phillips, offers a range of unique hand-painted cushions to customers with a love of Africa.

Students and graduates of a skills development NPO, based in Khayelitsha and Hermanus, exclusively create the painting and manufacturing of the cushions. The NPO upskills and empowers previously unemployed people in 14 market-related skills, including graphic design and sewing, empowering graduates to start the journey of leaving the cycle of poverty and restoring hope and dignity.
Phillips said, “I am delighted that our product range is now available from Superbalist. Going forward, we are in advanced negotiations with a British company to market our products to the UK.”
