Hannah Barry

Founder of Bold Tendencies Community Interest Company and Hannah Barry Gallery, Barry has helped to revolutionise the art scene in Peckham, South London. Barry founded her eponymous gallery in 2008, in a warehouse adjacent to artist studios and faith group meetings. “It felt like a blank canvas, I didn’t want to work in the context of something else,” says Barry, declaring a generational sentiment, and a motive “to create a system of opportunities for art that hadn’t be shown before.” She has also established the Bold Tendencies exhibition, which has attracted about a million visitors since its inception. Joris Laarman

Joris Laarman is a Dutch designer, artist and entrepreneur best known for his experimental designs inspired by emerging technologies. Laarman says, "I like to blend old and new so that my designs don’t look like some alien blob that nobody is able to relate to. I also like to play with history, traditions and values in design because it’s not just aesthetics that are changing, it’s the whole system of how we design, make, sell and distribute things." Laarman's designs are in the permanent collections and exhibitions in such institutions as MoMA, New York City; V&A, London; Centre Pompidou, Paris. The Bonechair and its prototype were recently added as the closing works of the 20th century collection of the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam.

Kiko Farkas

An award-winning Brazilian designer, Farkas and his company, Máquina Estúdio is responsible for doing some of Brazil's most famous creative projects, such as the visual communication of Municipal Theater of São Paulo and the Praça das Artes cultural centre. The studio gives special attention to the manoeuvrability of the object that will carry all the content – its physical characteristics and functioning. Its projects stand out for having received several awards and are increasingly required in specialised publications worldwide as an example of the best of Brazilian design. Kiko Farkas is a member of AGI – Alliance Graphique Internationale, and founding partner of ADG Brasil.

Rodrigo Garcia Gonzalez

Gonzalez is an inventor, designer, architect and engineer and also lectures about product design at Kingston University. Over the years he has developed a number of patents on structural and deployable systems, following suitcases, and other products. He has won a gold medal in the Improvisation World Championship II, received the National Dyson Design Award, the British-Spanish Society-Telefonica Award, and won the Gaudi European Competition on Sustainable Architecture 3 times. He is also co-founder and co-CEO of Skipping Rock Lab, a London based start-up with the goal of making packaging disappear.
