Heating it up at the Loeries, Margate 2005

heat will be publishing a special advertising trade marketing edition of heat to celebrate the Loerie advertising awards that took place a week ago in Margate on the KwaZulu Natal south coast. The heat paparazzi were everywhere and there are probably several creative types out there dreading 'the circle of SHAME!' or 'fashion disasters... the HORROR!' or just 'SCANDALOUS!!'.

The heat Loeries 2005 issue will be available to the advertising industry from Tuesday, 25 October 2005. The limited run heat Loeries Special will be bagged back-to-back with an additional print run of 4 000 copies of heat issue 85.

The editorial approach of the heat Loeries Special is similar to the real consumer heat (i.e. the same style and sections, etc.), depicting advertising "celebrities" as if they are Hollywood A-Listers. Candid pictures of advertising personalities at the Loeries are given the heat 'treatment' in the special mag.

According to heat publisher Kim Browne: "heat is brought to life for advertising industry decision makers in this way. This is a unique and innovative trade activation campaign for this fast-growing celebrity brand."

The heat Loeries campaign was created by UCM, publishers of heat and number one men's lifestyle magazine brand FHM.

UCM publishing director Louis Eksteen says: "heat's most recent three issues have sold more than 80 000 copies on average per week, making heat South Africa's fastest growing magazine brand."

The heat ad sales teams in Johannesburg and Cape Town will deliver this special heat issue 85 package to ad agency media executives from Tuesday, 25 October 2005. In addition, copies will be mailed to ad agency creatives and client service executives.
