Aurasma adds virtual cover to Sports Illustrated
The July issue of Sports Illustrated is reportedly one of the first magazines in South Africa to use the Aurasma app to create a virtual cover, featuring Springbok captain Jean de Villiers. The app can be downloaded free on iPhone, iPad and Android smartphones.

Sports Illustrated editor, Ami Kapilevich, says: "It's great to see how technology adds another level to readers' interaction with one of our iconic sports stars."
"The great thing about the app is that it's a lot simpler for the user to access the content than other AR apps. There are no extra steps like subscribing or signing in. It's as simple as opening the app and pointing your phone at the cover," adds Renato Balona, head of new media at Media24's Lifestyle magazines.
