Retail Technology Forum for Africa favours BI

Business intelligence (BI) is listed as a key technology to drive business forward by over 80% of retailers attending the Retail Technology Forum in October 2012.
Retail Technology Forum for Africa favours BI

Explains Melody Fourie, group IT executive of Tiger Wheel & Tyre, "Gone are the days where it is enough to report on how you are doing or to simply confirm your trading results. BI takes reporting to the next level, allowing a business to be proactive rather than reactive by using smarter analytics to make the normal day-to-day decisions and allowing it to forecast and model, based on this information. BI can be used just about anywhere in an organisation from social media analytics to finance analytics..."

It is no surprise that e-commerce also tops the poll with two thirds of retailers listing it as a priority. Other technologies that the retailer delegates rated highly in the poll include: CRM, enterprise mobility, infrastructure and networks, inventory management, mobile communications and social media. In today's competitive climate, retail is all about achieving the highest standards of customer experience and improving efficiencies - and delegates attending the forum will be looking for those breakthrough technologies that can help them achieve that.

For service providers in these technologies, the forum is the perfect opportunity to meet with a captive audience of innovative CIOs, IT directors and IT specialists through its unique program of pre-matched one-to-one meetings.

The forum takes place from 29-30 October 2012 at Arabella Hotel & Spa, Hermanus, South Africa. Its gold partner is Argility and silver partners are Smart Axess, Exinda and Zetes. For more information, email the organisers, moc.stnevemoornepo@ofni.
