LatestSightings.com launches contributor channel
Nadav Ossendryver, founder of the site says, "As we are principally community driven, we have developed a contributor channel partnership in order to share in the wildlife success of footage published to the channel."
Rewards system
Gert de Koker, a visitor to the Kruger National Park was the first to revel in the monetary reward system for his wildlife video footage with an initial handover of R21,965 in August 2014. However, to date he has received approximately R100,000 for his video submitted to Latest Sightings.
De Koker says, "As a regular visitor to the Kruger National Park, I videoed footage in order to educate people regarding the danger associated with wild animals and hanging out of car windows. I never imagined it would do this well and that I would be rewarded."
The video footage accepted from the community does not require technical skills and hence one does not need to be a professional videographer to get involved. The simple, non-professional but unusual clips are doing well.
In order to be eligible and maintain a good standing, the contributor library provides convenient access to submission guidelines, and other useful information.
