Journalism survey reviews state of craft

HacksHackers Cape Town is conducting a survey to find out what journalists in South Africa earn both fulltime and freelance.
Journalism survey reviews state of craft

Besides collecting valuable information on the state of the industry, the intention is also to use the data it collects as an exercise to show journalists how easy it is to gather, interrogate and visualise data, using simple free tools.

There are questions that ask for details of age, gender and ethnicity, as the research team suspects that there may be major disparities hidden in those areas, and the only way to find that out is to collect the data and compare.

Journalists are urged to take a few minutes to complete the anonymous form and, once that is done, they may fill in another very quick form to ensure that the results of the survey are relayed back. There is no email link between the second form and users, so anonymity remains complete.

To complete the survey, go to goo.gl/L9v9o.
