FIFA says it respects media freedom
NEWSWATCH: Following media outrage at what many viewed as the soccer body's overly restrictive and dictatorial conditions media would be obliged to adhere to in reporting on the World Cup, FIFA now says that the conditions weren't and have “never been, to restrict press freedom”, reports IOL, which also reports that the SA Students' Congress is none too pleased with the media and its reporting on the addition to the president's growing brood.

For more:
- IOL: Fifa: We respect the freedom of the press… That's just in case you might have thought otherwise, thanks to the many and varied conditions the body put on media wishing to be accredited.
- IOL: Zuma sex report condemned… The SA Students' Congress (Sasco) is miffed with the media for “irresponsible” reporting on Jacob Zuma's love life; the student body says the reports show disrespect to the president and are “unAfrican”.
