The CEO of Kagiso Media for nearly eight years, in November 2006 Jardine took up the position of chairman of Kagiso Media and COO of KTI, following the passing away of the group chairman, Eric Molobi.
Says Njeke, “Roger will be sorely missed. He has been an integral part of the Kagiso Group for almost a decade but has decided to move on and pursue other interests. We wish him every success in following the route he has chosen, and we know that he will be a great ambassador for Kagiso into the future. He has always been a passionate champion of the organisation and his contribution to the group has been immeasurable. His commitment to promoting the values, culture and ethos of Kagiso has been a testament to the efforts of our founders.”
After nearly 10 years of being part of the strategic leadership team and helping to shape the business strategy and performance of the group, Jardine says, “I feel privileged to have been a part of the development of such an exceptional organisation that has been shaped by outstanding South Africans like our late chairman Eric Molobi, the late chairman of Kagiso Trust Yunus Mahomed, and the late Beyers Naude, an icon of the struggle for justice and democracy in South Africa. There are so many personalities at Kagiso that have shaped my social and corporate perspective, particularly Eric Molobi who was an outstanding visionary and leader.
