Media newsroom challenges in 2008
Following the successful 6th Inter¬national Newsroom Summit 2007, Ifra decided to make this an annual conference. Consequently, on 28 and 29 February 2008, chief executives, chief editors and editorial strategists will meet in Madrid to discuss topical issues and innovations in the newsroom: www.ifra.com/newsroomsummit.
The conference will focus on the challenges that need to be tackled in 2008: new thinking, new organisation, infrastructure, technologies and skills. Representatives from Axel Springer, Germany; Nettby, Norway; Daily Telegraph and Nottingham Evening Post, U.K.; El Tiempo, Columbia, and Grupo Reforma, Mexico, among others, will give practice-based reports on the main conference topics:
Guiding attendees through the two-day conference will be Eva Domínguez, journalist and consultant in new media from Spain, and Mats J. Larsson, editor in chief at AB Dagens Nyheter from Sweden.
In the lead-up to the International Newsroom Summit, Ifra offers two all-day preparatory workshops, both on 27 February 2008, focusing on the following topics:
Workshop 1: “Reorganising newsrooms for multiple media” (IfraNewsplex).
Workshop 2: “Creative Remix” (Apple).
Visit the Ifra website for latest updates: www.ifra.com/newsroomsummit.
