Call for entries for Ifra XMA Cross Media Awards 2006
Explains Michael Heipel, project leader at Ifra, "The Ifra XMA Cross Media Awards 2006 will present a wide range of projects from all over the world. The objective is to show the potential of cross-media projects and what newspapers can learn from them for their future reporting of major events."
Besides print newspaper, additional media channels such as online, mobile services, special DVDs, books and podcasts - up to and including events - must be used successfully as part of a connected special project.
Up until 31 July 2006, interested newspaper publishing houses worldwide can register at www.ifra.com/xma and submit a maximum of three special projects or products for evaluation. Entry fees are €150 plus VAT per entered project for Ifra members and €250 plus VAT per entered project for non-members. Publishing houses from Germany, Hong Kong, Croatia, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Austria, Saudi-Arabia, Switzerland, Singapore, Spain, Sri Lanka and the US have already signed up, in reaction to the first announcement of the competition in February.
An international jury of acknowledged experts from publishing houses, advertising and media agencies, as well as trade magazines, will evaluate the submitted entries. Winners will be announced and the awards presented on 11 October 2006 at the IfraExpo in Amsterdam, where winning entries will be on display 9 - 12 October.
The Ifra XMA Cross Media Awards 2006 are sponsored by dpa - Deutsche Presse-Agentur, Kodak, Protec and UPM and supported by Escenic. Media partners are Ifra newspaper techniques and Horizont.
