After 16 years, the company decided that it needed a new logo to communicate how its business is shifting into corporate video conferencing from a history of bespoke home automation and as a symbol for its new online store.
"Instead of commissioning a professional design studio, which may only propose a few options, we opened the mandate to a whole online community working in graphic design. We received nearly 200 submissions from designers around the world and at a significant discount to the traditional means," comments 4ward-design co-owner, Darryl Katz.
"After posting the requirements and design brief on one of the many crowdsourcing platforms, we started receiving designs of astounding quality within days. There were one or two proposals that made us scratch our head and laugh but these just added to the overall enjoyment the process,"
