Challenging the banking industry

Last week saw the launch of the new TV campaign for Nedbank and Pick ’n Pay’s re-branded Go Banking. According to Kevin Palmer, CEO of Go Banking, the main reason for the re-launch of the brand was as a result of research conducted with customers and non-customers.

“The new branding emphasises the core component of Go Banking: simple and easy, which is what banking should be and is what we offer,” he says.

Conceptualised and produced by Y&R Hedley Byrne, the two 20-second adverts use silhouettes to dramatise everyday hassles that you wouldn’t normally accept, in contrast to ‘Go easy on yourself. Go Banking’.
