Academic Navigator (Lecturer): Graphic Design (Part-Time)

The IIE’s Vega, Cape Town Campus has a vacancy for a Part-Time Academic Navigator (Lecturer) for the second semester in the following module:

• Graphic Design Technology 3B and
• Graphic Design Technology 2B

Job Purpose:

• Lecture based on provided content, ensure students are guided and supported in their learning. Mark student submissions and engage with campus teaching and learning

Key Performance Areas:

• Prepare for lectures based on provided content
• Supplement content with own expertise
• Deliver assigned modules to the stated outcomes and contracted hours
• Mark student assessments and provide constructive feedback
• Support student academic success by implementing workshops where needed
• Perform academic admin, such as capturing assessment marks and reporting on student success
• Provide content feedback
• Engage with professional development opportunities and attend initial training sessions

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

​​Ideally: 

• BA Honours (HEQSF 8) in: Graphic Design/ Visual Communication Design/ Information Design*  

Alternatively:

• BA Honours in Multimedia / Digital or Interaction Design with experience in WordPress and MailChimp

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

• Work and / or lecturing experience in UX / UI Design and using WordPress to create fully functional web sites
• Portfolio needed to show examples of work. Work experience in Motion Graphics will be an advantage

Working Hours: 

• Monday to Friday: 08:00 -17: 00- subject to position
