Community media entries sought for Vodacom Journalist of the Year
The level of interest shown by community media in entering the Vodacom Journalist of the Year “Community Media” category has prompted the judges to recognise the importance of the segment. They have stated that “the burgeoning community media sector seeks to deepen democracy in the country”. In seeking further entries, the judges remind entrants that “localism”, and the demographics of the target audience are of pivotal importance to the entries and must be included in the journalist's motivation.
