Blood & Water's soundtrack curated by Africa Creative Agency
Africa Creative Agency has revealed it, together with its Africa Creative Publishing division, produced Netflix's second African Original series Blood & Water's. The series was released on 20 May to over 190 countries globally.
Rapper Nasty C and singer Rowlene lead the soundtrack with the single "I Need You," which tells the series main character Puleng's journey of frustration, fear and insecurity. Other artists featured on the soundtrack include Sho Madjozi, Amanda Black, Youngsta CPT, Tellaman, Gemini Major, Cassper Nyovest and Lady X.
Mzwa Sibanda, head of Africa creative publishing at Africa Creative Agency, said when they were approached by Gambit films to assist with the soundtrack production, they wanted to find something that spoke to an urban youth market across Africa. "We were able to dig into music that really resonated with audiences across the continent and drive the type of music the kids are actually listening to" said the agency's CEO and founder Colin Gayle.
