The Banning of Alcohol Advertising

If alcohol fuels alcoholism, then it is logical to assume that food fuels obesity - why not just ban food ads as well?!

With all this buzz in the air about alcohol advertising being banned, I'm beginning to feel rather irritable (maybe I just need another drink?!)

But seriously, one of the main concerns is that it simply fuels alcoholism, shoving new and enticing brands in the face of people who genuinely struggle with the disease. I sympathise wholeheartedly but honestly!! With obesity rapidly becoming the next big thing (no pun intended) and all the anti-obesity campaigns flying around, are they planning on banning food ads next? In my view, the principles are the same, so why not?!

Luckily I don't suffer from the disease (yet) but I still get bombarded with McDonald's ads on a Sunday lunch time on SABC and sure as nuts, off I go to get me a Big Mac. If it's that easy for me, just imagine... So guys, whilst you're at it, why don't you pull every edible product off every wall, billboard and tv station, coz after all, it's only going to fuel the disease...

Anyone getting me on this?
