One campaign that really used to annoy me was the Sanlam Ads in Cinemas (the ones with the "I think therefore I am" quotes etc.) They were so boring and uncreative, its quite scary to think that Sanlam actually paid an agency to get them made...
And what about the Coca Cola ad with the talking fish, "She runs a school you know..." What a load off trash, who thought of that? The guy who opens the can seems drunk? on Coke?
And the Cell C cy ad, no-one talks like that... Well, I thought it was quite cool at first, very innovative, but there is only so many time we can see an ad...
Both Coca Cola and Cell C targeted the youth market, yet they (the youth market) are laughing at the middle-age advertisers who think they know them!
What I'm trying to say is lets start a alter-Loeries awards for those ads that are so idiotic, so un-interesting and so off the mark that the Ad companies deserve to know about it... Who does your vote go to?
