Shouldn't the Loeries be a non-profit organization?

Where does all the money go? Should it be used for development projects or helping deserving winners with entry fees for international awards instead of going into the MFSA's coffers?

I would like to suggest that the money earned (R2,3 million - for entries alone) is used for more than bolstering the coffers of the MFSA. Surely it should grow the local industry talent?
Why not use it to fund an organisation that works all year round to produce publications, exhibitions, lectures and workshops?
What about scholarships and growing local talent? D&AD provides 1.5 million pounds annually to “To educate, inspire and nurture the next generation”.

What about a trust fund that enables deserving winners at the Loeries to have their entry fee “sponsored” for Cannes, D&AD, One Show etc?

The dedicated team would manage the process of the Loerie “monster” all year round instead of the usual blind panic when the organisers get back from their Christmas break only to find they have only weeks left to get the work done.

Trained staff you could call with entry questions that would know the answers. Or perhaps solve the potential problems before the crop up…

It just seems the prices keep going up, the service stays the same and there is no real benefit to the industry as a whole.

Who really stands to benefit here?
