    Dishing up DStv on mobile

As of 1 April 2007, DStv subscribers will be able to access programming information from their cellphones through DStv dish Daily. The mobizine will provide the latest programming highlights and updates, access to monthly competitions and exclusive offers, information about DStv and troubleshooting hints.

Said Nicci Brown, MultiChoice Africa promotions and relationship marketing manager, “Following the successful inception of this service, we will potentially launch a DStv Compact-specific mobizine. This will contain relevant sections, providing a direct communication link and opportunity to source and supply DStv Compact competitions and exclusive offers to this market as well as programming highlights.”

There will be four sections in DStv dish Daily:

    • Today’s highlights
    • Coming soon
    • Giving you so much more
    • About us

Within each section will be the capacity to provide five articles (with pictures and individual “calls to action”) and a promotional banner. Content in certain sections will be updated every day at 7am.

DStv dish Daily is a free mobizine service to DStv subscribers and is not a subscription service. The only cost is the cost of the initial SMS and download of the mobizine to their phone, followed by the daily data charges for each new edition (about 2 – 10 cents per day, depending on the mobile operator data packages and charges).
