Finns love Pearly Bay Cape White
Alko, Finland's monopoly alcohol retailer has announced that Pearly Bay Cape White, one of the KWV's best-selling wines, has moved from fourth to third ranking in international wine sales, outselling the popular Gato Negro Sauvignon Blanc from Chile in 2011. It is also the best-selling South African wine brand in Finland.
Considering all wines, red and white, the brand is ranked fifth by the retailer and, when measured against beer, wine and spirits, it is ranked at number 16.
"The improved ranking against international competitors is another indication of the standing of our country's wine across the globe," says Jeff Gradwell, brand director for KWV South Africa's Wine Portfolio, "We are proud of our performance in the European markets and in particular Scandinavia." The range is also available in the UK, US, Sweden and several African and Asian countries.
The range is available in South Africa from leading retailers at a recommended retail price of R27.99.
