SAB wins at International Monde Selection

The 2011 International Monde Selection and Quality Awards in Brussels, have selected SAB's Castle Milk Stout, Carling Black Label, Sarita Select and Sarita Ruby Dry for quality awards under the Beer, Water and Soft Drinks category, with each product tasted by an international expert panel of judges.

  • Grand Gold medal - Castle Milk Stout, brewed at the Newlands Brewery. This is the brand's second Grand Gold, having won the award in 2010 as well.
  • Gold - Carling Black Label, brewed at Prospecton Brewery; its second gold. The brand has received a Grand Gold in the past.
  • Gold - Sarita Select and Sarita Ruby Dry, both brewed at Chamdor Brewery. Select now has three golds, as well as a Grand Gold. Ruby Dry has a previous gold

Products are adjudicated on 20 different parameters measuring sensory quality. The beer jury comprises of experts in brewing and fermentation technology, professors, lecturers, professional tasters and chemical engineers and partners with the Institut Meurice in Belgium, renowned for its expertise in brewing and fermentation science since 1897.
