Stan Joseph, CEO of Ochre Moving Pictures and executive producer of Saffron TV, commented, “Acquiring exclusive rights for Paanchvi Pass is a great milestone for Saffron TV and we will be working hard to bring the very best to local audiences.”
On Friday, 13 February 2009, the Bollywood's No 1 star, the much-loved Shah Rukh Khan, asks, “Kya aap paanchvi pass se tez hain?” launching a series that is intended to keep viewers of channel 456 on the DStv Indian bouquet glued to their seats.
Paanchvi Pass, based on international TV show “Are you Smarter than a Fifth Grader?” features adult participants vying for a 50 million rupee (R10 million) prize and was reportedly one of the most widely watched television shows in India.
The 39-part series as part of the new Saffron TV lineup, which includes The Rise and Rise of Shah Rukh Khan, Main Miss India, Italian Khana hosted by Ritu Dalmia and the Maximum Style series from Zoom Entertainment.
