At MIDEM, more than 9000 music professionals will meet for five days of networking, deal making, market information and live and recorded music. It attracts independent and major record companies, music publishers, broadcasters, online and traditional distributors, producers, promoters and retailers from every music genre ,with specialised sections for world music, classical, jazz, electronic and urban.
The three organisations are hosting a cocktail function at the South African Pavillion stand, to be attended by more than 300 South African and foreign delegates.
The Minister of Arts and Culture Dr Z Pallo Jordan commented, “We have taken giant steps to profile local talent and indigenous music in the international arena. South Africa is now a recognisable name brand at international music trade fairs like MIDEM, POPKKOM and Womex.”
