Janet Jackson cancels concerts for trial

Janet Jackson has postponed part of her tour to Australia so that she can be with her family during the trial of Dr Conrad Murray, accused of involuntary manslaughter for her brother Michael's death according to Channel 24 and Associated Press.

She gave the news organisation a statement that said when she planned her trip to Australia the schedule for the court appearances was completely different. Having discussed the tour with her the Jackson family she agreed to delay the tour so that she could be with them for the trial.

Instead of performing three concerts, she will now perform just once at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne on 3 November.

Prosecutors in the Murray trial are expected to wrap up their case this week and the defence will then present its case and that is expected to take at least another week, perhaps longer.
