Media invited to media regulation workshop
Participants have been invited from 19 African countries from the ranks of government, editors, regulators and civil society, as well as a member of the British Press Council and a Canadian Information and Privacy Commissioner.
The topics for discussion will be:
- The right to know and access to information
- Models of regulation
- Issues in self-regulation
- Transformation and democratisation in the media
- The role of government
- Mechanisms of accountability
This event is supported by the British and Canadian High Commissions.
