Game launches interactive stores

Mass Discounters has launched its Gameactive in-store brand-building promotional service for Game stores around the country. It aims to help companies promote their products in Game stores and simultaneously give customers one-on-one assistance with all products.
“Shopper focused assistance in navigating and selecting brands is what Gameactive is all about,” says Tyronne Viera, national merchandising director at Mass Discounters. “One-on-one help that is friendly and informed energises brands and adds to the shopping experience in our stores whether people are buying nappies, chocolate, toys or a cellphone.”

The team of special assistants help brand owners to evolve a creative approach to promoting their products and integrating the plan with the marketing, merchandise and operations teams to ensure a seamless execution and measurement of promotion success.

The service has a flexible design to create brand awareness, build and enhance brand positioning and point of difference, educate shoppers about new formats, new products, re-launches, explain brand benefits and drive sales volumes.

“Christmas is around the corner and most brand owners and retailers are already gearing up for the busiest shopping period of the year,” says Viera. “Companies need to maximise their sales volumes in a tough economy with an industry generally characterised by lower volumes and tighter margins.
