South African elected second VP of ICCA
The board elections at the general assembly of the 49th ICCA congress took place in Hyderabad, India, last week and the second VP of the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) is now Nina Freysen-Pretorius, the national chairperson of the Southern African Association for the Conference Industry (SAACI).

The incoming ICCA president is Arnaldo Nardone of the Radisson Montevideo Victoria Plaza Hotel.
Freysen-Pretorius, owner of Durban and Cape Town-based The Conference Company, will continue to serve as Middle East and Africa board representative.
According to Freysen-Pretorius, her re-election to the ICCA board and election as second VP is truly an honour. "Over the next two years I hope to achieve a closer working relationship between the Middle East and African chapters, increase membership from the region and establish a permanent office and dedicated secretariat for the region," she says.
ICCA, based in the Netherlands, represents the international meetings industry and has over 900 member companies and organisations in 86 countries. To qualify for election to the 15-member ICCA board, the individual needs to be a paid-up member of the association and have attended three AGMs.
