Local SMEs will have the opportunity to access a wealth of international knowledge and expertise and engage with industry leaders from around the world at this event, which will be managed by MCI South Africa.

According to MCI South Africa MD, Rashid Toefy, the INSME Annual Meeting & Forum brings together leading global experts in the field of SME innovation and technology commercialisation for mutual learning and networking. The event will focus on the role and importance of technology-driven entrepreneurship and innovation in fostering small business efficiency, competitiveness and growth.

"This will be a unique opportunity for South Africans to learn from some of the leading practices globally and for international practitioners to gain exposure to and learn from South African and African practices," he says.

    Local collaboration

The local 2015 Forging Enterprise Conference will be held in collaboration with various partners in the government and corporate sector such as Osiba Management, Economic Development Partnership, Department of Small Business Development, Cape Craft and Design Institute, Silicon Cape Initiative, The Barn and Africa.com.

"This unique event, which will have a small business exhibition component, will showcase the latest trends and developments in enterprise development in South Africa and provide a platform for local enterprises to connect and engage with their international counterparts and to forge new business relationships across borders," adds Toefy.

"Through hosting these events we have the ability to shape the business conversations that are taking place on the African continent and to make a meaningful impact on effecting change and advancing economic growth in key sectors," he concludes.
