An Appletiser a day helps clean up the bay
For 10 years, Hout Bay, near Cape Town, has been caring for their environment with their recycling efforts. Recently, the 3 R's Recycling Group initiated yet another recycling project in the area and Appletiser committed to the project by sponsoring a total of 220 recycle bins to all the schools in Hout Bay.
Every classroom now has a recycling bin, enabling the children of this community to participate in the project - the aim of which is "team up to clean up".
Neil Hobkirk, SA Appletiser Marketing Director, believes that providing assistance to this project is beneficial to both companies. “In the long term, small projects such as these highlight the impact that we all have in creating environmental awareness globally,” he adds.
The recycling bins have been branded with specially designed stickers emphasising that “80% of what we throw away can be reused”. This ongoing project evolves around the 3 R's: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. This slogan appears on each of the Appletiser bins.
