Holistic lifestyle magazines undertake a new Odyssey
The merger gives the magazine national representation, with offices in Gauteng and a head office in Cape Town and a combined circulation of a projected 15 000, with readership pegged at 70 000, say the publishers.
Chris Erasmus, Editor of Odyssey, says the merger was a "logical step in a heavily traded magazine market". He adds: "It's ironic that with many mainstream magazines either running regular features or sections on 'body, mind & spirit', it remains a problem for those independent local magazines that have always specialised in these subject matters to break into the awareness of advertising executives, brand managers and media co-ordinators."
The new-look Odyssey will, says Erasmus, continue to delve into the full range of holistic living - which covers 'life, the universe and everything between'.
