New student design show at Cavendish Square

FEDISA students, who have been creating designer outfits in keeping with this year's theme of 'Larger than Life' for the J&B Met, will have their work showcased in a show featuring top local and international models, co-ordinated and choreographed by one of South Africa's leading fashion show producers, Karen Burt from Planet Productions.

The show takes place at the Centre Court in Cavendish Square, Cape Town on Saturday 22 January 2011 at 1pm.

The competition will be judged by a panel of celebrity judges, including Charl Reineke - manager of Cape Times Fashion Forum, local couture designer - Paul van Zyl, Cavendish Square marketing manager - Madrie Verwey, and J&B Met Organiser - Sue Kablin.

Said Allen Leroux, CEO and academic director of FEDISA, "When the shopping centre approached us about putting something together to showcase our students' talent, we jumped at the opportunity to expose our students to 'real world' experiences, which will help them grow and develop. Students who participated in this showcase will also be assessed by the institute on their work and the marks will go towards their annual assignment totals."

In addition to the student's design show, other fashion retailers will be showcasing some of the hottest trends and looks for this year's J&B Met.
