Propak heads back to the Cape
The World Packaging Organisation will be holding its annual international meetings alongside the exhibition, bringing key global players together to discuss industry trends and developments. This at a time when the local packaging industry is growing due to higher consumer demand for packaged goods, higher crop yields and an increase in exports.
This industry growth is reflected in the exhibition sales for Propak Cape, which, by February, reported that the sale of floor space had exceeded that of the previous show in 2005, and was at 70% capacity of total space available for 2008. A recent update by Cape Business News reported that due to popular demand, there's been an increase in floor space, which, according to the exhibition organisers, is almost sold out.
“The exhibition is set to create a powerful platform bringing together buyers and sellers in these [packaging and labelling] market sectors. It's an extremely successful regional event, combining all elements of packaging and related industries and provides a powerful marketing vehicle for the broad industry it represents,” said John Knocker, Exhibition Director, Propak Cape.
