The competition, which was a major drawcard for the popular trade show, invited entrants in novice, intermediate, advanced and master levels to enter one of two categories; Celebration Cake or Sugar Art. All entries were required to incorporate this year’s theme, ‘Inspired by Music’ with the final assessment performed by a panel of qualified guild judges.
David Sweidan, Willowton Group marketing executive, congratulated this year’s winners on a fantastic showing: “We are proud to be associated with an event of such a high calibre that gives our skilled bakers a chance to showcase their unbelievable talent. WoodenSpoon is a preferred ingredient for crafted desserts, such as these, as the quality taste of the item matches the outer aesthetic, resulting in a winning recipe every time.”
Commenting on the contest, Sue Reid, national president of SACDG, said: “There were some truly incredible sugar crafts at this year’s competition and I’d like to congratulate every participant for the effort and heart put into the creations. We’d like to thank Willowton Group for their generous sponsorship.”
