The summit, taking place on 15 October 2014 at the Maslow Hotel in Sandton and 19 November at Portside, Cape Town, will play host to franchisors, franchisees and Industry role-players who together will find innovative ways of integrating business efforts that will ensure a greater diversification in the business sector.

The summit will encapsulate a growing trend of franchising not only in South Africa but also in the rest of the continent. Morne Cronje, FNB Head of Franchising explains, "Franchising is an evolving industry that taps into every market and contributes to the South African and African economy. We find that the calibre of South African franchise brands establishing themselves in the rest of Africa is growing fast. With this growing trend, we need to find workable solutions that will help grow our brands both on a local and global level.

"Today, innovation with the help of technology has helped add value business processes. The bank's electronic business banking platform provides evidence of the ease and effectiveness with which technology can be harnessed to add significant value to small and medium business banking clients.

"South Africa has harnessed the power of emerging technologies to foster economic growth, which ultimately has helped them remain competitive in today's world. The viability of the business sector continues to be questioned. However, if we work together and look for tools and solutions that will help us maintain the sector we can surely see the business industry thriving and succeeding. With many new franchise concepts and brands entering South Africa, we need to be sure that we have the capacity as well as finance to support these ventures," concludes Cronje.
