SuperSport breaks new ground with updated identity

In shooting their new station identity logos, SuperSport became the first company to use the much talked about Phantom camera to film sports for commercial use.
SuperSport breaks new ground with updated identity

The camera is unique in that it captures the moving images at 1000 frame a second, as opposed to the regular video format of 25 frames a second. The special slo-mo camera was integral to the concept, which saw elements of nine different sports being shot.

The concept of showing that SuperSport can even be found in the most intricate phases of everyday sport was the brainchild of SuperSport's On-Air Marketing Department and implemented by production agency, Thackwell & Whittaker.

The station identity logos were shot on two separate days over a two-week period. This was necessary because of the planning that was needed to go into every single shot. When shooting in this fine detail, every little blemish or problem would be magnified.

With the blend of super slo-mo footage and state of the art three-dimensional graphic builds, SuperSport wanted to illustrate the presence of SuperSport in the extreme detail of every sporting moment.

SuperSport plan to roll out the new station identity logos across all their channels in June.
